Övrig information This is a mature, contemporary work for the advanced organist. The opening movement is marked allegro feroce and uses rhythmic drive and chromatic tension to create a powerful and dramatic effect. The central movement is quiet and meditative, displaying Colin Mawby's trademark of sustained harmony supporting plaintive, modal melodies; the tension of the first movement surfaces briefly but the music finally settles down to a calm serenity. The third movement - triumphant, celebratory and toccata-like - leads to a majestic, maestoso conclusion.
