Övrig information For more than twenty years the choral conductor and musicologist Clytus Gottwald has been transcribing piano-accompanied Lieder and instrumental works for a cappella choir. These arrangements employ techniques found in the music of Ligeti and make the highest demands on vocal ensembles. On this CD, transcriptions of works by Alma and Gustav Mahler are presented here in a masterful interpretation by the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, among them the famous Adagietto from Mahler’s Symphony no. 5, arranged for 16-voice choir.
