Övrig information This choir piece, "Stone Song" is written for amateur choir. Estonian Composers Union commissioned new choir pieces written by young composers. This piece is influenced by Medieval music, probably because of text by Estonian poet Aleksander Suuman: "it was long time ago when a stone was a stone, water was water..."

It was long time ago
when water was water,
a stone was a stone,
a tree was a tree.

Then times came
when water wasn’t water,
a stone wasn’t a stone
a tree wasn’t a tree anymore.

They were everything else:
it was so natural.
It is strange to think of this
now, when again

water is water,
a stone is a stone
and a tree is a tree.
