Övrig information This edition presents Stalislao Mattei’s very short exercises (the piccoli bassi) in partimento playing according to Mattei’s 1788 autograph, preserved at the Biblioteca della Musica in Bologna. These exercises are among the most appreciated in the entire partimento repertoire, not the least due to their shortness. The 100 exercises in this edition contain some five or six measures each, allowing us to learn these pieces by just listening and imitating a proper realization played by the teacher. The edition contains also additional scales, cadences, and modulations from the same 1788 autograph. The Workbook section in the second half of the book makes this edition particularly suitable for classroom teaching in counterpoint. The introduction is written by the Italian harpsichordist and scholar Matteo Messori.

Denna utgåva presenterar Stalislao Matteis mycket korta övningar i partimentospel (piccoli bassi), enligt Matteis autograf från 1788, bevarad i Biblioteca della Musica i Bologna. Dessa övningar är bland de mest uppskattade i repertoaren, inte minst tack vare deras kortfattade format. De 100 övningarna i denna utgåva innehåller var och en endast fem eller sex takter, vilket gör att vi kan lära oss dessa stycken genom att bara lyssna och imitera en korrekt realisation spelad av läraren.
